Poison Spyder DeFenders Negative Fenders Front Steel
YJ
Features & Product Details
The Poison Spyder DeFenders Negative Fenders are the best and they offer the best protection to the hood of the jeep.
The Poison Spyder DeFenders Negative Fenders is tubeless and they are built from solid aluminum. They are normally fabricated from the CNC laser cut and precision brake-formed 3/16 inch plate. The defender has an extra return since they run on the underside of the fender so that they do not cut into the fully stuffed tire and also so that they offer maximum protection and also add some more strength to the fenders outer edge that usually comes into contact with walls rocks and other surfaces that could damage it. The defenders outer edges are normally formed into a rub rail that has three rugged sides. The entire structure that is from the outer rub rail surface to the top plates on the mounting surface are 3/16 inch thick. When compares to the tube fender the defender is not only stronger but also looks much better. At the back where there is a wheel opening, larger tires normally rub with the steering but this is not the case with the defender since it has 4 inches more space.
The negative flare on the defender offers maximum clearance do it offers tire articulation and also tight rails. They are usually referred to as negative flare because they normally subtract the width of the stock fender. They are inward tapered so that they hug the edge of the hood more closely so they leave enough room on the edge of the fender to attach a latch. They also provide steel rub that s beefy so as to provide more protection. For those that want to lower the center of gravity for their jeeps they usually use minimal lift and big tires. Using the defender is a great way to allow for suspension articulation and still give a beefy armored fender. There are other different versions of the defender available such as the zero flares and there are other versions that will be released in the future. They have side plate access holes that make it easy to access when installing.
