The Poison Spyder JK Evap Skid is constructed from CNC laser cut and brake-formed from 3/16” plate steel. It completely covers the evap canister to protect it from the bottom, front, sides and rear. The slanted design of the front surface helps the Jeep up and over any obstacles that could potentially damage the undercarriage. You will also find the familiar laser cut Spyder symbol on the skid.

The installation method involves removing the stock mounting bracket, and securing the canister into the Evap Skid using the provided components and hardware. This provides the added benefit of lifting the canister enough to gain an extra ¾” of ground clearance. This includes the thickness of the skid itself. The JK Evap Skid comes powder coated satin black, and comes with two complete hardware kits for either 2007-2011 or 2012+ installation, and install instructions.

Please note that there are many kits on the market that deal with the evap canister’s relocation in many ways. Kits that relocate the canister may result in engine codes that are difficult to diagnose, or may even void your factory warranty. Other skid plate products may protect the bottom of the canister, but may leave the sides and front vulnerable. The Poison Spyder JK Evap Skid keeps the canister in the factory location, with electrical and vapor connections intact, while fully protecting it from all sides.

Received promptly, In stock means in stock, thank you! Install was fairly easy, hardest part was disconnecting the evap cannister. Directions a little unclear as pictures on install instructions are for a Gen2 JK (same for all of the you tube installs). After playing with the various parts, figured it out and install only required about 30 minutes, High quality powder coat. Nice heavy gauge material.

definitely glad this was one of my first after market parts I replaced. It's taken more than enough beatings and the only thing it needs is a new coat of paint. Definitely protects the evap.

Lets face it there was no protection for the JK Wrangler's EVAP canister until 2012 (and even that factory skid is kind of a joke). Enter Poison Spyder. You get a solid piece of metal, simple installation and don't for get a small amount of overall clearance (the skid actually raises where the bottom of the EVAP canister is located in relation to its original installation). I crawl with more confidence now having the piece of mind in knowing my precious EVAP canister is protected.
