SEMA 2018
It’s SEMA time again and we are in Vegas checking out the new products and show Jeeps that the various aftermarket 4×4 companies have on display!
SEMA 2018… the logo says it all and people were lined up for a 1/4 mile to get their pic taken in front of this life-sized one.
How BIG is the SEMA show?
The two graphics below say it all…
The South Upper Hall is the main off-road vendor area and it is longer than the Empire State Building is tall.
The Central Hall is massive too and there is still the North hall, the outer buildings and all the outside vendors. This show is HUGE and is one of the top three trade shows hosted at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
WARNING HEAVY JL CONTENT
Of course with the 2018 Wrangler JL being new for this year, it was the Jeep to build for the show and built JLs were everywhere. From mild builds, to wild builds, to WTF? builds, the JL was definitely the rig to build for this year’s show.
This was the first Jeep Wrangler JL we ran across when we walked onto the convention center grounds, well built, definitely good styling and posed out of course!
Trail Ready had a JLU in their booth showing off their latest wheels.
Up-Down Air was in attendance showing off their new Up-Down Air system for the JL crowd.
Not too far down past the Up-Down-Air booth was this bright blinger JL at the Rockslide Engineering booth.
ARB was on hand to show off their latest creations for the JL. Front bumper, rear bumper, side bars and lift. They also had one of their super-trick jacks on display to play with. Very smooth action, easily lifted the nose of their JLU, no problem.
The new ARB side rails for the JLU are beefy and ribbed for extra strength. Good to see ARB really step it up with their JL products.
SEMA wasn’t just about new JLs, there were a few nice built older Jeeps including a couple MJs.
AEV was on hand with their newest offerings. Very good looking stuff, might even be the best looking bumpers for the 2018+ JLs.
AEV’s JL rear bumper was very similar to their JK offering with a couple cool mods like a license plate holder that folds down as a step.
Supercharger for your new JL? All the big supercharger manufacturer’s had units ready to go!
Bolt has a Mojito Green JL in their booth.
If the new Warn 8274-70 doesn’t give you a warm and fuzzy feeling, then you don’t winch enough! The new 6 amp motor gives the 8274 10,000lbs of pulling force and at full load it’ll pull 700+ amps… Better make sure your charging and battery system is up to par!
Jim McGean and crew from Dynatrac was on hand with all their latest offerings including replacement 44s, 60s and 80s for the JL/JLU.
Motive Wheel had this “weathered” JK on hand in their booth. The paint was cool from a distance, but when you got up close you could see it was just paint and not weathering.
If you are going to do rust, do it right…. the Injen crew got it right on their JLUR.
This is the second MJ we saw on display at the show. It was pretty sweet and the bright orange paint sure made it pop!
Of course Dana was on hand with their aftermarket axle sets ready to go in your JK or JL. The UD60 kit has a complete built 60 front and rear ready to bolt into your JL.
Rhino Rack had their Rhinocon show truck on display with a roof rack and rack mounts.
There were a slew of new bumpers for the JL at the show, Addicted Desert Designs had theirs on display complete with huge light bars ready to light up your world.
This sweet J-Truck was one of a few Full-Sized Jeeps in attendance.
Our old friend Erick “Conquered Trailz” Miller had the Honey Badger on display outside the South Hall.
Hi-Lift had a nicely built JLUR in their booth showing off a range of jacking and recovery gear.
Cliffride was in attendance with some cool hardtop replacement products including this pop-top tent hardtop.
Cliffride also was offering a full camper slide-in for the JL, talk about Overland ready!
Of course you gotta take the cool builds with the Ghoul build builds and this one sure fits that description.
DV8 displayed their new bumper offerings. Good looking bumper, but it sure looks like many of the others on display.
I stood in line at the Rugged Ridge booth to find out more about this sweet old school/new school build, unfortunately couldn’t find out much about it. If you know anything, please post up below some specs on this cool rig.
Rocbilt had their prototype aluminum bumpers and sliders for the JL on display.
Cool is cool and can you get a cooler pub crawl rig than this six door JLUR?
For those Overlanders, Patriot Campers had a really trick fully loaded Overland camp trailer, set-up, spread out and ready to move right in.
So many built JLs on hand. Nice to see builds that are not over the top Bro-tastic.
Another nicely built JL.
Bestop was showing off their CORE doors for the JK.
REGO came all the way from Israel to show off their wild criss-cross long travel IFS suspension for the JK.
Currie always seems to have well built, clean looking show rigs. Nice, but not over the top.
Roof Top Tents (RTTs) were everywhere including on this mildly built JL in the DeeZee booth.
Sneak peak at the Feroce big brake kit for the JKs.
Icon Suspension had a decked out JLU in their booth showing off the new Icon offering for the 2018+ Wranglers.
The new Warn Hyperlink is basically taking the standard screw pin bow shackle to the next level.
Blue Rhino-lined JL in the DV8 booth.
JL with a classic Gladiator grill. What do you think?
Big Mickey Thompson TTCs under a TJ, parked next to a nicely built JK…. who’s to say that there wasn’t enough variety in the Jeep builds.
We can’t let you go without a little BRO!
Sometimes you just gotta represent!
Sometimes when you build trucks… well let’s just say it’s like eating a bag of BROtato chips… you can’t just eat one.
