Our Complete Axle Sets typically come with some form of traction aid. Our most popular option is an electronic or air-powered locker. A selectable locking differential allows for on-demand traction assistance; a locker works to "lock" the axle’s wheels together and distributes power to both evenly. This prevents one tire from slipping while the other tire spins, making it much easier to climb or crawl through slippery and low-traction terrain. A limited-slip differential lives up to its name by limiting the amount of slip on the wheel with the least traction, providing part of the torque from the wheel with the most traction. While it doesn’t completely prevent wheel slippage like a locker, limited slips generally activate on their own and require no input from the driver, unlike a selectable locker.
