    I came into the shop (pre-covid) looking for something else (can't remember what it was now, maybe the winch controller), and got to chatting about my situation having just rebuilt my winch but having issues that I suspected were in the solenoid pack, and the manager mentioned this control pack upgrade. I had no idea this existed and probably still wouldn't if he hadn't mentioned it. This thing was a godsend. First of all, it eliminates the crossbars, which you'll probably have to replace (after ordering them somewhere and waiting) if you ever try to disassemble your older M8000 winch, and it comes with the screws you need as well--no chasing those down. The thing works like a dream, it's survived several dips in mud lake and has never let me down since I installed it. It looks better, it works better, and it saves me a ton of grief. Probably the best mod I've bought for my Jeep. Ease to install is going to depend how your winch is mounted to your bumper and what your setup is like, but no competing product is going to be easier to install than this. Do make sure you use/connect the second ground (the thinner wire) because it won't work if you don't.
