    Pretty Sweet Tire Carrier

I love the way this made my JKU look. It's a solid tire carrier, there's no question that it performs the way that it's supposed to. People compliment it everywhere I go. I'm running an 37in Trail Grappler. A few things to keep in mind. If your Jeep is a part time grocery getter, or you have to get in and out of the back often, I don't really recommend this. It takes more work to get in and out of the back of your Jeep. You have to unclip and pull the pins, take them out, set them somewhere, then swing open the carrier, and then open the tailgate like you normally would. If you live in a cold climate, sometimes you'll run into trouble with the pins freezing, and giving you trouble taking them out. I've busted a few knuckles messing with them. Also, my wife drives my Jeep sometimes, and has no idea how to open it, so she just doesn't. Then she complains about having to put all the groceries in the back seat. I told her drive her minivan, problem solved. :P Also, I'd recommend powder coating it. I went the cheap route and painted it, and it started rusting in no time. Installation is a huge pain. You will curse like a sailor. But once it's on, you'll feel great. Not for the faint of heart. You have to drill into the body of the Jeep. Overall, I'd recommend this for the hardcore wheeler who rarely needs to access the back of the Jeep. Otherwise, I'd recommend something that's easier to get in and out of.
