Works Great, Tough to Install

The J8 master cylinder and brake booster from MOPAR works really well. I paired it with a big brake kit (larger rotors and calipers) and my braking feels much better. I can lock up my 37in tires on a 4-door just fine now. I couldn't before. The pedal feel is also much improved. The build of each part seems good (they are MOPAR, not an aftermarket manufacturer). The performance per dollar is also good. The inclusion of the booster for this price is good. Also, the master cylinder has a larger bore than some of the competitors that don't include a larger booster. Installing the brake booster and master cylinder was difficult. The included instructions has you install the brake booster on the firewall bracket, then install the booster + bracket on the Jeep, then install the master cylinder. I found it much easier to install the bracket in the Jeep alone, install the master cylinder on the brake booster, then install the booster + master on the bracket together. This will force you to fasten the bolts of the booster inside the cab where the brake pedal is. The trade off is that it's much easier to move the booster + master in place this way. In fairness, replacing a brake booster is always a pain and isn't specific to this kit.
