The ARB coupling is rubber coated to reduce the heat it holds when connecting and disconnecting air lines from your compressor. Don't make the mistake of thinking the coupler won't still be hot, it will be, just not as hot as a bare metal one would be.

The way this coupling works is fantastic. However I believe it was either assembled incorrectly or over tightened from the factory because it leaked badly on first install. I disassembled the coupling, checked for issues, then re-assembled it. Works like a charm now! Only complaint is I wish it worked with high flow fittings
