Auburn Gear Limited Slip Differential Ford 8.8in

The Auburn Gear High-Bias Torque Pro Series limited-slip differential has been designed to out perform the standard OEM differential. These differentials provide usable traction, as well as faster engagement for controlled power transfer with fast reaction times. This is achieved through a unique cone-clutch design that transfers more power to the high-traction wheel to allow for faster acceleration and tighter cornering. 

Additionally the Auburn Gear limited-slip differential utilizes an integral cone clutch side gear unit that creates friction with the carrier to drive both the tires. The torque transfer capability is achieved through the use of cone clutches coupled to beveled side gears. As torque is transmitted through the differential side gears to the axle shafts, the side gears separating forces and spring pre-load firmly seat the cones in the differential case. The cone design, along with the applied force will determine the torque transfer capabilities of the differential. 

When the torque levels decrease in a cornering maneuver, the gear separating forces also decrease, allowing the axle shafts to rotate independently. This will unequally divide the torque between the two wheels, applying torque to the wheel with most traction. 

This differential will fit all Ford products with an 8.8" ring gear including units with IRS applications. Also accepts the tone ring for ABS applications.
