Works great, Has taken a couple good hits with no issues. 9 months ago
Have been running this skid for a few years and so far no issues. It has seen its fair share of hard hits and rocks scrapping. Some of the paint has peeled off, but again that was expected with it being on rocks. My wife bent the front lip a little when she went a route and took a good hit, but it saved the diff from damage, so worth the money in our case.

No U-bolt issue here 3 years ago
I haven't bashed this on anything yet, but this appears to be a nice and solid plate. Unlike the previous reviewers, this fit my 2020 JT without issue. I'm not sure if the U-bolt has been changed or my diff is different, but there were an excess of threads on both sides of the u-bolt - quite easy to start by hand without any bending or alternate procedure. Do check the "vehicle application notes" for this on the mfg website - it sounds like some models may not work. Northridge states this won't fit my Gladiator Sport, but it does. I have the differential with a drain plug on the bottom.

Good value quick install 1 year ago
Was just what I needed. Good beefy skid for my trip to John Bull, Holcomb Creek, and Gold mountain l. Skid got worked on Holcomb creek. I would recommend the Rancho skids for sure. Just make sure you get the correct one for your Jeep axle. I verified part numbers on the Rancho website before ordering at Northridge4x4. As always quick shipping and it was in stock . Thanks again NR4x4

Good but... 4 years ago
Again, the u bolt situation is bad. They could add more curve to the U as it's flat across the top and it would probably fit no problem... bending it by hand is virtually impossible and no leverage to pry along the bolt to press it into place... they also have poor braces that are on the interior that cause interference for space that when ground down give enough clearance to fit the u bolt with some persuasion.. also, be VERY careful it mounts on the diff neck and not the driveshaft, it really wants to mount to the driveshaft...

Great Product But Install Problems 4 years ago

I purchased this skid for my 2020 Jeep JLU Recon with the Dana 44 axles. While I was trying to install the skid I ran into a problem with the u-bolt that fits around the drive shaft. The u-bolt is about 3 threads to short to be able to fit the nut and washer onto it. I tried to use a c-clamp to bring everything together but no. I got frustrated enough that I ended up calling Rancho to ask someone what the trick was. They told me to try putting the nut and washer on one side really tight and then forcing the other side on. It barley worked, but Rancho needs to provide a longer u-bolt for this in the long run.
