Its a sturdy unit and easy to install. The reason we chose the Maximus 3 is because it has separate hinges from the door hinges. The tie-rod link allows it to move independently of the back door, yet stay snug to the door. The weight of the tire is entirely in the Maximus and not on the door at all. Excellent design and works great.
