    Excellent Lift
    DanW 2 months ago
I´ve had this lift now for more than a year and have driven with it in all kinds of conditions. This lift works perfectly for me with the Gladiator because I do a great deal of towing and occasional hauling. It does not sag under load, at all, with the standard AEV rear springs. The on-road handling is excellent, and that´s really why I bought the lift. It does not sag under load, yet it retains good suspension travel off-road. It tightened up the ride a little bit, but it is not at all harsh. I would describe it as controlled. The steering and handling feel great, too. I did install the front control arm relocation brackets, and I feel that is a key to the way it rides and handles. I would strongly recommend this lift. AEV has top notch quality and they use Bilstein shocks tuned to their flavor. I think it is just right. The standard rear springs handle everything I´ve thrown at them. I would only recommend the heavy duty springs if you are putting a substantial overlanding load on the truck, such as you see with overlanders who take everything including the kitchen sink on their trips. I didn´t need that because I don´t overload the truck. I throw some water, camping gear, food, tent, and recovery gear in the back and that´s all I need. This thing doesn´t even know its there. I am taking it to Moab in October and I expect it to perform exceptionally well. Love the lift. Highly recommend it, especially for a daily driver and weekend wheeler. Installation does take time and you´ll need extra hands. I had the luxury of a lift and a buddy and it took us 10 hours. But it is done right. Not terribly hard. But done by the book.
AEV 2.5in DualSport RT Suspension Lift Kit

Great Match with AEV Dualsport Lift

These shocks feel great and are a perfect match with the AEV Dualsport 2.5 on my JT Gladiator. Not too soft/mushy and not too firm. Just right. Excellent handling. AEV tuned them just right.
AEV 2.5 Dualsport 5100 Series Shock Kit

    Just Right

The whole AEV Dualsport lift works exceptionally well on my Gladiator. it is not too soft and not overly stiff. It really tightened up the handling without making it harsh. The AEV/Bilstein 5100 shocks are perfectly matched to the springs. It especially feels good when hauling gear or towing. The truck is planted and doesn't have as much body roll or nose dive as stock. The Geometry Correction Brackets contribute to less harshness and better control of nose dive. I could not be happier. It is on the expensive side (for me), but well worth it. I had the AEV 2.5 Dualsport on my JK and it was great, too. It really led me to this lift on the JT. AEV sweats the details and does it right. I added an adjustable front track bar.
AEV 2.5in Dualsport Standard Load Gas Spring Kit

Easy to Overlook The Value of This Skid

I really don't know why but I bought one of these for my JLUR and took off the thinner factory Front Axle Disconnect (FAD) skid. I guess I felt a very unlucky bash on a rock could disable the FAD. That wouldn't be good. Well, I had buyer's remorse as I've never touched it. Then on a particularly rocky trail in New Hampshire, I not only bashed it, much of the weight of the front of the Jeep was on it on top of a rock. Then I winched it right across it, gouging a big deep scrape across it. But it did the job and protected the FAD. I don't think the factory plate would have survived, nor would the FAD. I highly recommend this skid plate!
Artec Industries Shield - Front Center Axle Disconnect - CAD Skid, Powder Coated

Simple, Light Weight, Clean Look, and Solid

I've got a set of these on my JLUR and bought another for my wife's JLUR. We're running Rigid Industries Side Shooter cube lights on them. I like that they are not big bulky brackets that interfere with the lines of the Jeep or cause wind noise. These are silent and minimalist but they are plenty strong. Installation could not be easier. Just remove the cowl bolt and drop these in. I did add a rubber washer to the bottom to keep from scratching the paint. In the summer I sometimes remove these and the lights and run with the windshield down. Easy.

    Better Protection

This skid plate is MUCH thicker and stronger than the flimsy stock plate. It fits perfectly, too. It took maybe 5 minutes to install and shores up what I think is an achelles heel of the JL's front axle.

  • AnswerQ: Bump Stop Kit Included  DanW 4 years ago

I'm going from an AEV spacer lift to this one. It already has the bump stop extensions. Can this kit be ordered without the bump stop kit to save $50?
