Review of the RockJock Currectlync Heavy Duty Steering System (Not for Rubicons)?
On the edge 7 months ago
Starting with the Tie Rod Assembly, it was perfect. Following the instructions was simple, and the dimensions provided matched my expectations. However, the instructions for the drag link stated much shorter dimensions than what was actually needed. While this wouldn't have been a problem once adjusted to the correct length, I became concerned about safety once it was fully extended. I have a 2021 Rubicon with the larger Dana 44 axles, which I believe come standard on all Rubicons. I didn’t order or install any larger axles. The vehicle has a 3-inch lift in the front and 2.5 inches in the back, along with adjustable track bars to recenter the axles. Although this kit claims to support up to a 6-inch lift, I don't believe it would be safe with anything more than a 3-inch lift on a Rubicon. I became concerned about the drag link when I was adjusting it before the install, so I called the manufacture to explain what I had found and expressed my concerns. I was assured it would be fine. However, not feeling it was okay I took the drag link to my mechanic, who had recommended this kit. He agreed it would work but also noted that, when fully extended, if I ever decide to lift the Jeep more, I’d need a longer drag link. In fact, the stock drag link would extend further than the one provided in this kit. I also had him install it. I’ve attached pictures showing how far the drag link is extended, and I hope it will be okay. If someone knowledgeable could review these pictures and tell me if I’m pushing it too far, I’ll replace it with a longer, better drag link now. In conclusion, I don’t think this is the right drag link for a Rubicon, especially if you have a similar lift.
