Better Handling After Adding an AEV Lift
sean 9 months ago
I'm working up to putting 35"x12.5" tires on my stock rims. 2.5" AEV lift is in and now we've got the 1.75" spacers to avoid rubbing. First off, remember to buy TWO sets! These went on very easy but as another reviewer stated, you'll need a non-impact 22mm socket to attach the new nuts plus you'll want an extension between your socket and torque wrench. They fit great. Loc-Tite is included. With two people we were able to get them on in about an hour. After putting on the 2.5" AEV lift my JT Rubicon definitely lost some of the stock handling. It felt a bit wobbly, top-heavy, and drifted on the freeway with a cross wind. After adding these spacers I immediately felt an improvement in handling, much closer to the feel of the stock height. With the stock Falken M/Ts we're definitely getting a lot of rocks thrown against the doors on gravel roads due to the wheels sticking out past the fenders. I'll probably add the Mopar Xtreme Recon fender extensions to reduce this. Thanks for the great service, Northridge4x4!! Next up 35s!!

Installed in 90 Minutes
sean 1 year ago
Northridge shipped super fast the week before Christmas. My son and I got these fully installed in about 90 minutes following the instructions from Oracle. A few YouTubers say to take the bumper off but that looked like more work than necessary. There is a tricky screw to remove and even more tricky to reinstall. The angled wrench shown in the instructions is a must and an electric angled wrench would be best. While holding the screw in place with a magnetic wand I was able to hand tighten the new fastener while my son held the plastic bumper molding away from my hand. These seem more pure white than the Oracle reverse lights I put on my Gladiator. The Gladiator lights have a yellowish tint to them while these match the JL's reverse tail light color better. I would buy these again and I would install them with the rear bumper on again.

Worked Almost Perfect

Two drawbacks of this bracket: 1) I needed to get longer screws to go through my bumper and Warn fairlead; 2) the winch shackle that came with my Warn doesn't fit behind it without the license plate sticking out. Otherwise it's an excellent option. Neither of the issues are DV8's problem. I would highly recommend this to others. Simple, straightforward use out on the trail.

High Quality Bumper
sean 2 years ago
I really went back and forth on this and another aluminum bumper option for my Gladiator. I'm very pleased with this bumper. It's sleek and simple yet strong. Install went well with two people. The hardest part is getting the old bumper off. My factory LED fog lights and Warn winch went on great. I would recommend putting the winch on with the bumper off. I took one star off for value because it is an expensive bumper. Thankfully Northridge has free shipping, I also missed a 10% off coupon code that would've made it better. Hold off for a sale if you can. After just a couple months there is already rust on one of the spacers which is disappointing. Fortunately this is a part that not everyone will need for installation and it's very well hidden. I would've liked these components to be aluminum as well since rust was the main reason I chose aluminum. One thing I will have to watch is the back of the fog lights are now completely exposed. The stock bumper had a lot of backing and covers for the backside of the bumper that I assume would keep snow, rain, and mud away from the electrical connections. The RH bumper has all of those things exposed to the elements.
