OK, look slightly different than in the pictures

One of the problems with the JK is finding tail lights that look OK, that fit in the factory spot. Most look like they're for angry soccer Dads. These look OK and are passable as "belonging as a factory option". They're low profile while doing all the above listed so far. The Bad for the Price: The side marker isn't, it's simply a reflector. For the price, it should be lit. The brightness between the tail lights and the brake/turn signals is not significant. It should be *more*. The heat sink/mount for the backup lights is huge. It can make fitting difficult. You can grind on it to make it fit. The housing is cheaply made and doesn't follow the contours of the tub. The ones I got also aren't uniformly black. I think the release agent for the molds wasn't sprayed properly. I have seen these in the wild on other JKs and they didn't have these two problems. The resistors come with cheap brackets and are supposed to clip to the pinch weld using vampires to grip it. Yeah, not with those cheap brackets and clips. The resistor weighs too much and the retention clips are made of foil. So I just zip tied the brackets to something because the resistors don't get that hot. All in all, if you want a LED low-profile tail light that doesn't look too much like an angry soccer Dad was perusing Temu, these are great lights. I would even say they'd be great lights if they were a hundred bucks cheaper. But for around four Franklins, all of the above problems should not exist. So I'd give these a solid mediocre.

A bit pricy, but keeps the rope protected
wrath 2 months ago
So if you are like me and like to drive into brush, this is great because it keeps the rope safe. The rivits are a bit irritating. It is a bit expensive though.

Larger radius of the thick fairlead helps
wrath 2 months ago
I have a bunch of winches on different things from your standard offroad toys to trailers to tractors. A lot of my tractors have fairly underpowered winches on them for their weight. Most of the time I end up winching 45 or more degrees off straight ahead as I live in a swampy woods. I used to use a roller fairlead with synthetic rope but they take up a lot of space. These are almost as good as a roller fairlead as far as resistance of the rope rubbing on the fairlead. If you just need a fairlead to guide rope to the drum, you don't really need this. If you are actually doing last wrap pulls at extreme off angles... this is the best there is.

Works on a YJ also

I have a few Adams driveshafts, but only have purchased two of their front ones for TJs. They are assembled of quality parts. This one happens to fit on a YJ also after you swap the NP231's front output to use a CV yoke. The welds are production quality. The paint job is underwhelming. It's a good value compared to the other three assemblers in this price range.

Great but on the short end for a YJ with a lift
wrath 2 months ago
I have bought many Adams driveshafts including this one. They are above average for value when compared to the other custom driveshaft assemblers. This one is a bit on the short side if you are running a fairly compact configuration such as: Dana 35 4 cylinder AX5 4"+ lift Flat belly NP231 with the common standard SYE and standard CV yoke (not the shorter CV yoke available from JB Conversions as that exacerbates the problem) Then you will be at the limit of the available splines. Do anything to change the overall driveline length such as use an AX15, standard drop on the transfer case, a rear axle with a pinion that is longer, etc and you will have more spline engagement. The welds are above average. The paint job is terrible.

Great for getting between trails, loading on trailer, etc
wrath 2 months ago
Even if you have selectable lockers, this makes getting between trails, loading on a trailer, etc much more enjoyable. You can shift between 2low and 4low on the fly making it so you can easily get rid of steering bind and turn tighter. It is also great for low-speed stuff where you don't need 4wd. I have purchased these in the past when they were nearly triple the current price, and that was a bit steep... at this price they're a bargain.
Teraflex 2Low Shift Sector w/ Range Fork
Best value for light to medium weight TJ
wrath 2 months ago
I have been using these for a year. I have tried many shocks on my nearly stock TJ trying to find the appropriate valving for the weight and tire size (32"). These are by the far best light to medium weight TJ option. Medium weight being 4.0L/Auto,aftermarket bumpers, and winch... with a hardtop but little added additional weight other than that. If you have more weight or bigger tires it is worth considering the 5100 series which is also a great value.

Worth the investment

I own a couple VR EVO winches and got tired of dealing with the wired remote. Not because the wired remote was bad, but because of the mounting location to plug in the wire interfered with some other accessories. The install into the solenoid/contactor pack was easy enough. This remote is fast (almost no lag time when pressing or releasing the button) and has excellent range.
