Must Have Front Bumper
Gerhardt596 11 months ago
Going to try to make a review of both NorthRidge and Rival 4x4. Honestly I wish this bumper was around 6 years ago when I built my last Jeep. I wanted something that looked OEM while providing the durability and practicality to run a winch, mount a light bar, and hold up to the trails. This does all that and more. I was originally looking at getting the Rubicon Steel Bumper but just couldn't justify spending over a grand when that money could be better spent on other parts. First, the price: - NorthRidge 4x4 is phenomenal, the only place I'll go to buy my aftermarket parts. They were 20% cheaper than Extreme Terrain and Quadratec. I missed out on the sale price by a day but sent Chris a message and they had no problem matching the previous price, not to mention through some more discounts in there on other parts I ordered. Customer Service is unmatched and I wish I could say I've had the same experience with other retailers. This bumper could honestly retail for a few hundred more compared to competitors and still be worth the price. In my opinion it's a better build and has more usability than the mopar steel bumper that came with the rubicons. Shipping: - Free Shipping and it got to my doorstep in 3 days? Can't beat it. Bumper was well packaged so as to not chip the powder coat and had zero damage. Tracking was provided - Build Quality: Bumper has everything you need, and once the new steel skid plate gets released next month it will really be a complete package. A true modular bumper, they offer the minimum required setup depending on your needs. Need recovery points? You can add them. Don't want them? They throw in plate covers that make it look like nothing's missing. Want to add a winch and light bar? Throw them on there and it still looks factory. You can even add the stubby end caps if you want a full width bumper. Love the look and after only having it on a day I've already had people asking me about it. Installation: This is the only thing I will give 4/5 stars on. Some of it might be user error but there were no instructions verifying which mounting bracket I should use for the oem led fog lights. I also wish the fog lights mounted directly to the bumper rather than the frame to ensure a seamless fit but after some tweaking and a rubber mallet it's not hard to make the adjustments to get them to fit perfect. The mounting bolts when putting on the bumper could be a bit longer and it's a pain to hold up the recovery hook plates while trying to mount the bumper but with a second set of hands it's pretty easy. Took a few breaks to get some yard work but after doing it once I'm confident I could install and remove the old bumper in less than an hour. All in all, could not be happier with my purchase. Looking forward to getting the light bar and recovery points mounted next week when they arrive. Thanks!
