Continuing the Jeep Legacy

When you think of off-roading, chances are the Jeep Wrangler or classic CJ models come to mind. It's easy to see why the Jeep has been one of the most iconic off-road vehicles of all time ever since it first aided our troops in the war effort during WWII. Eventually, the Civilian Jeep evolved into the Wrangler in 1986, continuing to improve and upgrade over the years. The release of the JL Wrangler in 2018 and JT Gladiator in 2019 brought refinement, capability, and comfort to new levels for the brand. The 2025 Wrangler and Gladiator model year continues to move the Jeep brand forward and brings some excellent new additions that build upon the major upgrades and changes the 2024 model year brought.

Did Someone Say New Colors?

Jeep is putting an emphasis on offering a wide range of unique colors for 2025. Featuring three new colors and a returning favorite, Jeep has brought a great selection of colors to their lineup. If you've been waiting to get a unique color on a Wrangler or Gladiator, now's the time to check out what they're offering in 2025. Brand-new colors include the dark blue Fathom Blue, the vibrant Joose Orange, and, saving the best for last, the '41 nostalgic army green color. The fan-favorite Mojito Green is being brought back for the Jeep Wrangler and offered for the first time on the Gladiator. I gotta say, my personal favorite color being offered for 2025 is the '41 color. Army green just feels right on a Jeep and really harkens back to Jeep's illustrious military history and rugged capability.

What's your favorite new color for 2025?

'41 4xe Special Editon: Hail To The Chief

Born from the 2022 Easter Jeep Safari, this concept has been made into reality. The '41 4xe Special Edition transforms your average Jeep Wrangler into a beautifully crafted Willys MB homage. The most striking aspect of this edition is the army green paint, color-matched retro-styled wheels, and military-inspired decals on the interior and exterior. Continuing the military-inspired theme is a tan-colored soft top to match the tan cloth seats in the interior. This package also comes standard with a set of 33-inch tires and a locking rear differential to provide the capability you'd expect from a Willys MB-inspired package. I do, however, wish this was offered on the non-4xe Wranglers and the Gladiator as well! Overall, this package is something anyone interested in the 2025 Wranglers should take a good look at. I can't wait to see these out on the road and the trail.

What Else is New?

Outside of the fantastic selection of new colors and the '41 Special Edition, Jeep has introduced several updates and options for the 2025 Wranglers and Gladiators, making them even more appealing.

First and foremost, Jeep has discontinued crank windows and manual locks. That’s right, all 2025 Wranglers and Gladiators now come standard with power windows and locks, even on the lowest trims. While some might see this as an improvement, others may view it as a loss of simplicity. Personally, I appreciate crank windows and manual locks—I even have them on my older two-door Wrangler—but I understand how they can be inconvenient for most drivers.

Another great upgrade for the 2025 models is the inclusion of a standard 12.3-inch Uconnect touchscreen. This large, responsive screen offers all the modern features you’d expect and is especially useful for displaying off-road navigation apps like onX Offroad. Safety enhancements introduced in 2024, such as side curtain airbags for both the front and rear seating, also come standard on the 2025 models.

The 2025 Wranglers and Gladiators carry forward many excellent upgrades from the 2024 lineup, including optional full-float rear axles, power seats, a redesigned grille, a stealth antenna, and more.

Jeep has also made several adjustments to the powertrain options for the 2025 models. For the Wrangler, the 3.6L V6 is now only available with a manual transmission (Update: Jeep has reversed this decision, the Automatic transmission is avaliable once again for the 3.6L V6!), while automatic transmission options are also avaliable to the 2.0L turbo, 4xe, and 392 powertrains. On the other hand, the Gladiator tells a different story: it’s currently only offered with the 3.6L engine, paired exclusively with an automatic transmission. This change is great news for those who want an auto, as the automatic transmission—previously a $2,500 option on the Gladiator—now comes standard.

Overall, Jeep has made significant strides to refine and modernize the Wrangler and Gladiator for 2025, offering enhanced convenience, safety, and capability.

The Final Edition We Wish Wasnt Final

It’s a sad day for V8 lovers (everyone) as the Rubicon 392 Hemi is seeing its final edition for the 2025 model year. Yeah, we get it—all good things come to an end eventually—but the V8 will always be a sought-after engine choice for the Wrangler. Luckily, the final edition sends off the V8 with a bang.

The Rubicon 392 Final Edition comes standard with a nice selection of goodies and unique styling upgrades that make this a worthy send-off for the 392. From a Final Edition tailgate plaque, special shifter medallion, and unique hood and fender graphics, it’s clear Jeep wants the 392 to be remembered fondly (how could it not be?).

Of course, you get all the other Rubicon 392 upgrades, such as beautiful bronze beadlock-capable wheels, a functional hood scoop, steel bumpers, bronze accents, and, of course, the 392 Hemi engine itself—just to name a few!

I’m certainly sad to see this go, but who knows? Maybe Jeep will keep it around for another year. After all, the 2024 Wrangler 392 was supposed to be the final year they offered it! It’s too bad we may never see a 392 Gladiator...

Goodbye for now, comeback soon our dear V8 <3

Is Now the Time to Jump In?

While the 2025 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator don’t bring radical new changes and upgrades, Jeep is doing plenty to further refine and improve upon their JL and JT models. The 2025 models feature all the great new additions introduced in the 2024 model year, such as the Uconnect 12.3-inch display, power seats, newly styled grille, refreshed interior, optional full-float rear axle, and much more. Combine this with the new trim levels the 2025 models bring, such as the military-inspired '41 4xe Special Edition, great new color choices, standard automatic transmission on the Gladiator, and standard power windows and locks on all trims.

I believe if you’re looking to pick up a new Jeep, now is a good time—whether it’s your first time owning a Wrangler or Gladiator or you’re a lifelong Jeep fan. Jeep has done a lot to refresh and upgrade their Wrangler and Gladiator lineup. With improved technology, enhanced performance features, a great color selection, and refined interiors, the latest Wrangler and Gladiator models offer a perfect blend of rugged utility and modern convenience.

What do you think about the new 2025 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator? Will you be picking one up? What would you like to see next for the Wrangler and Gladiator?
