Safer and Stronger Alternative Eliminate the conventional winch hook and replace it with a safer and stronger FlatLink shackle thimble and D-Ring. Conventional winch hooks have a tendency of cutting and fraying recovery straps, and often allow straps ends to escape during momentary slack cycles of a typical recovery. To prevent this from happening, the FlatLink does not require any splicing and will work with steel cables and synthetic ropes up to 3/8" in diameter. The FlatLink Red Shackle Mount is also the industry's first folding shackle mount for recovery winches, and with less than 1.75" of thickness, this FlatLink will work with all roller fairlead license plate brackets. Heavy-Duty Construction Constructed using only premium materials, the FlatLink Shackle Mount was built to handle any application, any time. Specifically, the FlatLink is constructed out of 6000 Series billet aluminum and is anodized using a red powder-coat finish for even more durability. The cable eye is retained by the flatlink by a 5/8" diameter grade 5 steel double shear pin and internal snap ring. This keeps the shackle mount in place and ready to go at moment's notice. What's more, this shackle mount has a max load rating of 16,000 pounds, making your off-road recoveries a breeze. The FlatLink E (Expert) is a variation of our popular foldable standard FlatLink winch shackle mount.  The FlatLink E provides a means to eliminate the conventional  winch hook and replace it with a safer and more secure screw pin shackle resulting in a CLOSED SYSTEM WINCHING operation.  The large pear shaped shackle mounting hole allows for attachment to either the pin or bow end of common screw pin shackles, as well as common OEM recovery points.

This makes the new FlatLink E more versatile than the current FlatLink design, but it also adds the possibility of a dangerous shackle side loading condition, especially during momentary slack conditions. A shackle side loading condition is not possible with our standard FlatLink shackle mount due to the shackle pin mounting constraint. For the recreational off roader we highly recommend the safer standard FlatLink product, not the FlatLink E. This way the winch operator does not have to monitor whether the shackle may have shifted and rotated in the recovery tackle. The FlatLink E is only available in the Military Specification Anodizing (Mil-A-8625 F Type III) hard anodized gray finish.

If you do not have the proper towing strength and connection, then you could end up in some situations that will leave you never wanting to adventure out again. Make the task of towing easier on your Jeep Wrangler JK with the Factor 55 Flatlink E. This flatlink is a another variation of the foldable Flatlink winch shackle mount that replaces the traditional winch hook. For heavy loads, this winch hook is not going to cut it. This flatlink offers a safer and more secure screw-pin shackle that works in a closed pin shackle operation. Proper Strength for Heavy Loads up to 42,100lbs For the strongest and most functional towing product, you are going to want to go with the Expert Version of the Factor 55 Flatlink E. The Expert version of the Flatlink features a larger pear shaped shackle mounting hole which allows for attachment to either the pin, or the bow end of common screw pin shackles. This Flatlink Expert is anodized in gray for a clean look and protection against corrosion. Peak load for this mount is 42,100lbs. Each flatlink is precision machined out of 6000 series aluminum. They fit over most OEM tow hooks, and connects to the pin ends of 7/8” and 1” screw pin shackles.
