First, northridge had this thing shipped crazy fast like normal. It’s a big heavy box that will be freight shipped. This is the only adjustable rack that I could find that is built with a modular approach and doesn’t seem to be cheaply made. That’s why I bought it, if you don’t need that then I would be a different rack. If you don’t buy or have a bed rail system I also wouldn’t buy this one. The clamps work but I already have a small bend in my bed top rail because I likely had shifted too much weight on one side of my tent. I don’t think this would have happened with a bed rail setup. This is a poor design also because of the small footprint of the plate on the top rail and only two brace points for each side. They should have maxed the mount longer so it spreads weight out and/or make a middle support beam. It has some great add on options available and seems very strong. It can sit just above your gladiator cab for a longer tent. But I would use a spacer or 80/20 so it doesn’t flex and rub. Last thing, northridge replied in seconds for questions. Road armor still hasn’t replied back to me on Instagram. That seems like a place they were active. I went from considering their bumpers to not after this purchase. Also…. They should really just add in one bottle opener, that could be their signature mark.
