A: You can either drill a couple holes to mount them, or use a hose clamp to mount this to the platform.

A: You could mount the Tred Pro's with just 1 mounting kit, but it would be more stable and secure with 2 of them. You don't need other parts to mount this if you are mounting to a flat surface. They do have optional brackets if you are wanting to secure it to a roof rack.
