  A:  Exhaust spacers aren't 100% needed, but they are recommended with pretty much all lifts 2.5" and up. When the suspension droops, the front driveshaft will come into contact with the exhaust crossover pipe, which will tear up the boot on the driveshaft and essentially ruin it. Alternatively, you could go to an aftermarket driveshaft instead of the exhaust spacers as they are narrower(but stronger) in that section and don't have clearance issues.
