Great axle for the money 6 years ago
I upgraded to this axle after breaking the ring gear on my Rubicon 44. I went to 40in tires and surprisingly the 44's lasted a year before giving up! This has been a great upgrade for me! I usually carry a lot of extra weight on the trails with tools, parts and recovery gear. This axle is beefy! I have put around 20,000 miles on it now and and wheeled it from Moab to Johnson Valley and the Dusy Ershim. I have been very happy with this upgrade. Only issue I had was after installing it and test driving, I had a gear wine in the rear end. I took it straight to a shop and found out there were no shims on the pinion. Got it set up right and have not had any more problems. You do need to get a big bore master cylinder do to the giant brake calipers. The brakes are huge and stop my big heavy 40in tires with ease. Mopar makes a master cylinder kit for it but I went with the Teraflex one and it works great. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants more strength, stopping power and ability to run larger tires without breaking.
