The Poison Spyder DeFenders are exceptional and revolutionary defenders designed to raise the bar of your jeep Fender armor. These DeFenders are CNC laser-cut and precision brake-formed to yield a stronger, better performance, and better-looking fender than the previous design. DeFenders provide the ultimate protection to your Jeep during hard core trail driving together with increased clearance for large tires and suspension system.
The wheel opening is around 4 inches wider than stock Jeep fenders, and approximately 3 inches wider than the out-dated fenders. The DeFenders are designed and completely engineered from CNC laser cut and precision brake-formed 3/16 inch plate that is either from lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum or from heavy duty P&O steel.
The DeFender is also built with an extra "return" or "lip" along it underside to provide better protection against cutting into a fully ballooned tire, while also providing additional strength to the outer edge of the fender which is more prone to damage by rocks, debris, canyon walls, stumps, and more.
The DeFender with 3 inch Tapered Flare is designed to deliver the ultimate performance in several ways. First, it offers the same premium protection from Poison Spyder's regular 3 inch flare, keeping debris and mud from splashing up onto the Jeep's side. Also, instead of having a straight side, the edge of this flare narrows inward towards the front of your Jeep, in a line parallel to the tapered edge of the hood. This way, it narrows from 3 inches at the rear, to about the same width as the Poison Spyder's "Zero Flare" at the front, offering the same ultimate tire clearance for tight trails that the Zero Flare also provides.
DeFenders also come in standard 3 inch Flares, Zero Flarse and Negative Flare versions. Only a single competitor manufactures a fender that is anything like Poison Spyder's DeFender. It is machined from the plate material with no tubing, but the manufactures design leaves a vertical edge of the fender pointed down.
