Really didn't want to do a spare tire mounted license plate, this seemed to be one of the only options. The bracket was easy enough to install, but no matter how tight I make it the bracket wiggles around a lot. It easily catches the tailgate when you open and close it. Based on how far it stick out past the tub, its going to get banged up a lot. I have not taken it to the trails yet, but my license plate was bent in from someone walking past the jeep in a parking lot.

After only 2 months of my usual commute, no off-roading or anything, the force of just highway winds alone cause my license plate to crack at the outermost bolt. This look nice, but doesn't provide nearly enough support for a thin license plate. It's also already started to rotate from the main body mount bolt loosening and now the license plate started to make contact with my tailgate. It looks nice, just not practical. It did not adequately support the plate from highway winds, it would never support the plate enough from impacts while off-roading. I definitely recommend something beefier.

I'll just say that allen head bolts are trash, unless you need a button head. 1/4 of a turn at a time on your back with a wrench and allen wrech seems like forever to install. The icing on the cake is when it's finally installed the door hits it. Hold my beer and give me that grinder. I upgraded and it's coming to a swap meet near you for 2 bucks. The license plate was stress cracked at the bolt holes from these NV washboard roads and after a 3000 miles adventure trip.
