Rock Hard Aluminum Bellypan Skid Plate w/Dual Crossmembers
JL 3.0L
Features & Product Details
JL Skid Plates
The Jeep Wrangler JL brings many upgrades over the best-selling 2007 - 2018 JK, but also has it's own unique undercarriage short-comings. It lacks any skid plates! A selling feature of the JL is also a hint at a major flaw: the suspension capabilities and increase fender flare clearance require less lift to increase tire size. This means wheelers can install larger tires and tackle tougher trails without having to install a traditional suspension lift kit. Less lift means more dragging your undercarriage and drivetrain all over the rocks.
Belly-Pan Design
To help you make it to the end of the trail, we're offering our most comprehensive and largest skid plate system we've ever designed. This is a true "belly pan" system that protects all your vital drivetrain components. The new JL 8-speed transmission drives fantastic, but is very long and pushes your drivetrain further back underneath your rig. To protect your transmission and transfer case, we had to increase the size of our skid plates. This is where our "belly pan" design gets to work. From frame rail to frame rail and oil pan to exhaust resonator, our design is comprehensive and complete.
Dual Crossmembers
Jeep had a brilliant idea to make the JL frame rails out of a new harder material, but trail testing has exposed a major flaw: thinner walls but stronger material twists! Early in 2018's Easter Jeep Safari exposed major flexing and twisting in rigs coming back off their day's runs. To prevent this plus strengthen our larger skid plates, we include 2 new 1" by 2" thick steel crossmembers. These CNC machined crossmembers extend from driver to passenger side frame rails and not only give our skid plates the foundation they need to protect your drivetrain, but also take twist and flex out of your frame.

REVIEWS & CUSTOMER MEDIA
Ran this system for the past 2 years. Went with it because it was the first available for the diesel. However, regular maintenance of the fuel system is a huge hassle because you cannot easily access the water separator or fuel filter. Thought it was a possible oversight in early manufacturing. But years later and an access panel still hasn’t been added.
