It’s not enough to have things bolted down anymore. I couldn’t get a good torque angle on this with my installation but some blue loc-tite helped.

I was searching for options to secure my winch since my Jeep is always outdoors. This gives me a little bit of security knowing it won’t be easy to remove the winch.

Is this absolutely a must buy purchase? Probably not, but with today's crime going up, having a little added security isn't a bad thing. For absolutely no additional effort or time added to your winch install, the Factor 55 Winch lock is well worth the investment to add an additional deterrent from any unscrupulous character trying to cause you to have a bad day. Is it completely theft-proof, no, but as is the case in most undesirable acts, the added effort may cause them to move on to an easier target.

So you got that big expensive winch sitting right out front where everyone can see it. Having trouble relaxing knowing its out there! Well quit worrying and make it a lot more difficult to take off! You can't get a wrench on the Factor 55 winch bolt. Most thieves are gonna go on to the next easy target! Get a Factor 55 winch lock and rest easy!

Im going to have to tac weld my bolts after all. I own a lot of Factor 55 and Warn products on my 4runner. I bought this winch lock thinking it must be good and it was the only thing I could find to replace a winch mount bolt. I installed it once, then had to remove it for doing some adjustments and then installed it again. Just doing that, the security bit is rounding off due to unequal design of the bolt and bit. It could be great if it was redesigned. It needs a deeper recess for the bit. it is far too wobbly. I get the security aspect but this design causes other issues i mentioned. Im not some special user of this either. i did not over torque anything, didnt do something goofy, no. You have to balance the tool while balancing your torque. I absolutely love Factor 55. I own pro links, fair leads, fast fid kit, tools, and those are all 5 stars. This bolt and bit interfacing is too weak to torque, very wobbly on every turn, the bit rounds out in just a couple installations under 1 month on only 25 ft lbs. My bit is already rounding to where it just slips out. Very disappointing.
