These have taken some solid knocks in the past year and they've held up pretty well. I really like that they stick out far enough that People of Wal-Mart are not able to ding my doors. Today I noticed a bright orange splash under my Jeep and turns out there is rust water dripping out from the front endcap. There is no damage to this area, so I'm a bit disappointed. Looks like the weld does not enclose the tube. Seems like a simple quality/design issue. Reminds me of the issue I have with my AEV front bumper. There are cavities on the sides that hold a lot of mud. If you don't contort your arm and clean these areas out by hand, they will rust.
Smittybilt is notorious for their fitiment issues. Not in this case. These went on with ease. There was enough play in the holes that the side armor lined up with little effort. I do recommend using two people to install this product due to the length of the item. For me however, it was a one man show that required a bit of thinking. I started with installing the middle most bolts to help balance the bar leaving the bolts very loose to allow for play. I went to the rear next tightening a little more than in the middle. Then to the front securing it snug, eventually working front to back for the remainder of the bolts. The look of these are very cool as the textured powder coat matches my bumpers and other accessories. You will not be disappointed.
Used these the day after I put them on. Took a good beating and it still looks brand new. Would recommend for anyone.
