The additional “armor” for the step sliders is fairly easy to install I had a few of the holes not quite line up but with a little work I was able to get all of the rivets installed. These add piece of mind and should increase the survivability of the RSE steps when used as a slider…I do not know how much durability these add nor if there is a way to measure.

This additional armor is critical to protecting the steps and takes a beating! Great addition. Easily cleaned up after actual rock sliding. Highly recommend. If really getting after it, the rocker protection is clutch too

Worth it if you're going to use your RSE Step Sliders as sliders. RSE step sliders were the 2nd mod on my JLUR, wife required them before I could lift it. Added the skid plates after our second wheeling trip, while the step sliders held up well to the abuse from those 2 trips, these skids make them total beef. Install was easy, the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was they were a little hard to line up and hold in place while fastening. I confidently wheel these knowing my sliders will handle any rock that crosses them.

Install was very easy, though I'm not sure the smash rivets will hold up to real world abuse and that leaves you with only two small mounting bolts which seems inadequate if you plan on using these as a slider. There is no step protection and it seems like there should be a plate over the outside of the extending step with a back stop to prevent the extending step from getting crushed if you actually used as a slider.
