With the tailgate in a closed and locked position, the "trunk" area becomes inaccessible. The hard top of the Tuffy Security Tailgate Enclosure can be used as an additional top mount storage area and is weight bearing for everything from vacation day luggage to trail time coolers. The interior of the "trunk" creates over seven thousand cubic inches of lockable storage space with an OEM non-sub-woofer system. However, the system is still mountable with or without the OEM sound system in place.
