This Rock Hard 4x4 skid plate is made from a tough 3/16" steel plate that has been laser cut. It is CNC bent to give it just the right fit, and it can be installed over the factory skid. Just bolt it on over the existing skid with the factory bolts plus 3 additional bolts. There is drilling needed for the 3/8" bolts. The tapered sides along the entire length of the skid gives you better clearance, and the black powder coating gives it a durable finish.

Spin
The RockHard gas tank skid does what it's supposed to. I've used it for about 2 years. Played on the rock countless times, and while it is scratched up, it hasn't bent any. Yes the JK comes with a stock gas tank skid, but do you really want to have to take it off and flatten it out everytime it gets damaged. This installs easily over the top of the stock skid.
