Installed the adjustable tire mount coupled with the Teraflex HD tailgate mount. The tire carrier is nice and easy to install, very sturdy quality stuff. There are a couple draw backs not mentioned. 1) you'll have to unplug the 3rd tail light wiring and remove it to remove your spare tire, but not that big a deal unless you have a lot of flats which I don't running BFG KM3s. 2) I use to carry a bag on my spare tire used for trash while overlanding, but now if I put the bad on it covers up the 3rd brake light. I'm going to have to figure out someway I can put my bag back on without hiding the 3rd brake light. Other than that it is a nice adjustable tire carrier.

I put this on after increasing tire size because our rear park assist alarm kept going off. It let me raise the spare up and tuck it in close to the tailgate. Kinda wish I'd gone with their tailgate/hinge reinforcement as well but I already had the mopar one installed. I did have one of the factory bolts strip out the hole while REMOVING it so had to tap it a size larger. It was probably over torqued at the factory. Otherwise no problems with the install and would definitely recommend.

This Spare tire mount really worked well. Moved the tire back towards the tailgate nicely. I was able to go back to my stock rubber bumps on the tailgate and my safety sensors quit beeping when I was backing up.

I ordered this tire carrier in August. In installed on 10/5 2 days before I drove from Central Illinois to Moab. 1/2 way across Kansas (14 mpg🤦♂️)and its still on. If it falls off it will be my fault I have a 35” BFG KO2 on a Dirty Life DT-2 wheel, bout 110 lbs. It was relatively easy instal see link for great instructions and pics. Down size was camera removal was not easy. Had to use a dremel because screws holding camera were stripped out from factory. I used my ceiling winch for hard top to lift tire also. 3 years in and no issues! Solid tire mount that looks great! Adjustable depth so the tire will sit close to the tailgate and on the bump stop. This feature also gives you a better view for your backup camera. 3rd brake light needs to be disconnected for tire rotations. Would be nice if the connector was on a pigtail and not directly on the brake light housing. Quality outweighs this minor inconvenience. I upgraded the 12 point bolts to Dorman 981-536 bolts; much easier to tighten. Be careful tightening the main plate to the tailgate. If you tighten too much, you may brake a bolt like I did. Easy to fix if you do. removed the plastic on the inside and used vice-grips to remove the bolt. Replacement bolts available at online parts stores or the dealership.

This thing is solid! Compared to the old model(JK) this is way better. Couple things I would’ve love have is the ability to adjust the camera position, I have wheels with 4.5in backspace and even though the camera extend more than factory, the wheel is still showing, not that bad though. Also a gasket between the bracket and the tailgate to prevent paint damage. Besides all that I love this thing and would buy again. Teraflex come on send a sticker at least.

The major flaw with this tire carrier, which is not explained or mentioned, is that you have to fish the brake light wiring through the silver housing each and every time you remove the tire from the carrier. If you install a spare tire and leave it, not a big deal. However, for those who rotate in the spare every 5,000 miles, this is a major annoyance. The issue is only compounded when you add a 37-39in tire almost completely blocking the area for access.
