The rear corners of a Jeep JKU take abuse. Tight trail sections, ledges, rocks, and trees all seem to find the sheet metal behind the rear doors and around the taillights. Builders know those factory corners and taillight housings are vulnerable, especially once the Jeep starts seeing serious off-road use. This armor was built to solve that problem while improving the rear body layout at the same time.

The Motobilt Rear Corner Armor for Jeep JK Unlimited 4 Door wraps the factory rear quarter panels and corners in 3/16-inch steel armor designed to take hits that would otherwise damage sheet metal. Rather than simple flat plate armor, these corners use a multi-stage formed design to follow the factory body contours around the taillight area and rear corners for a tight, precise fit. Countersunk mounting holes and flush stainless hardware keep the armor smooth, so rocks do not catch on exposed fasteners.

This system also addresses two common factory weak points by eliminating the factory taillights and factory license plate mounting location. The armor is cut for 4 inch round grommet-style flush mount taillights and covers the factory license plate opening, allowing builders to rework the rear layout while adding protection. It is armor designed with both function and fit in mind.
