Off Road Only Rear SwayLOC Manual Lever Sway Bar
JT
Features & Product Details
SwayLOC is the original dual-rate sway bar that provides different control rates for off-road and on-road use.
SwayLOC improves balance and control while providing full articulation during off-road use. In the rear, this will provide much more roll control during on-road use, yes it is much more firm than the stock sway bar.
The dual rates are achieved through the use of two concentric torsion bars. SwayLOC uses a simple latching mechanism to easily change between off-road and on-road use without having to struggle with disconnect links or having to be on level ground.
The proven cam latching system guarantees that SwayLOC engages in the correct position for on-road use and disengages for off-road use when chassis flex releases pressure on the latch.
This kit comes with brackets that get bolted to the Gladiator frame rail (drilling is required) and a bracket that bolts to the lower shock mount to accommodate the lower link. This process puts the torsion bar above the frame and drops the links down to the lower shock mounting area, eliminating the oem style linkage dropping down from the frame.
The oem inner fender liner will need to be trimmed slightly, aftermarket units likely as well.
A multi-piece linkage kit is included to create a variety of linkage lengths to fit most lift heights from stock to over 10 inch.
Notes
1. Remote kit requires an air supply with a minimum of 50 PSI to disengage the latch. No air pressure is used to engage and sustain the latch for on-road use.
Details:
The Gladiator rear SwayLOC is compatible with the stock bed and should work with custom applications as well. The arms will extend forward and are curved to allow full up-travel into the wheel well. The lower brackets included with the kit will encompass the stock bracket on the axle for the lower shock position. Simply loosen the shock bolt (complete removal is not necessary unless you have other parts mounted to that bolt, then some modification may be necessary) the SwayLOC bracket will be retained to the shock mount by an additional fastener in an existing hole, and then the lower attachment point for the linkage will capture the top side of this bracket and the stock shock bracket to allow the linkage to be mounted rigidly.
SwayLOC should operate as intended on applications where there is up to 10-12” of travel, beyond that some modification may be necessary to get arms to travel downward past the upper bump stop mounts.
