The Rhino-Rack Backbone is an interior structure set up on the inside of the JEEP JK Wrangler. Two plates on each side of the JEEP's Hard Top are connected with the interior frame extending your roof line to carry heavier loads with the max load rating of up to 100kg or 220lb.

Is this product meant to be used with the Vortex SG 2 bar roof rack?

A: It is not for use with the SG 2 bar system. The SG system is meant to mount to side gutters, like on the sides of the freedom panels. If you wanted to use Vortex bars with the Backbone mount, you would need to use overhang bars. The parts you would need other than the Backbone are QMFK06 - quick mount fit kit, RLT600 - quick mount legs and VA150B or VA150S(black vs silver) x 2 - Vortex bars.
