Features & Product Details

100% bolt-on skid plates for your vulnerable front and rear lower control arm mounts and rear shock mounts. The OEM JT control arm mounts aren't braced or skid plated and are the lowest points on your rig. First to hit, first to break!

Our 1/4" thick skid plates are made from a solid sheet of steel then bent, formed, and hand welded into it's highly protective shape. Notched for zerk grease fittings found on common control arm joint upgrades.

Control Arm Skid Fitment
2020 - Current Jeep JT

Our skid plate system is the industry standard because of the confidence it instills in each and every customer. Each control arm skid is laser cut from 1/4" thick steel coated in our weather and debris resistant powder coat finish. Strength is proven on virtually all Jeep enthusiast forums with glowing reviews. Since 2007 our skid plate system has been the undisputed leader in undercarriage protection.

What comes in every kit:

  • Driver and Passenger Side Skid Plates
  • Rear Shock Mount Skid Plates
  • Hardware
  • Installation Instructions

    Three Reasons Why:

  • Installs in minutes
  • 1/4" thick plate steel
  • Unmatched quality and fitment

FRONT NOTE: Not compatible with alignment cam bolts.

Why not weld on skid plates?

  • Unless you have hours to kill, not to mention a welder, go for it. We've found however that even weld-on versions aren't 1/4" thick steel.

Will these spin off during a hard impact?

  • No. Built-in retention bends prevent the skid plate from rotating backwards.

    Is any welding required?

  • No. Our mounting method allows for a DIY no-weld, truly bolt-in install.

    What finish is available?

  • Rock Hard 4x4 skid plates ship powder coated black with a semi-smooth, semi-gloss finish.

    Where is this mount made?

  • This product, like all RH4x4 parts, was designed, developed, tested, manufactured, and if applicable, powder coated, and shipped in the USA. And we don't mean the 75% legal standard to be able to say Made in USA. We are 100% Made in the United States of America!

A necessary addition with a few issues 2 months ago

Haven't scuffed the RH arm plates yet, but having bumped lots of other parts and pieces it's just a matter of time. The front plates use shims to align, but they aren't that hard to line up. I have a continuing rattle from the front passenger plate, I can't torque it any more than I have so we're just living with it. I may get a wedge made from sheetmetal and stuff it in the front. The factory bolts for the rear shocks are too short to accommodate the thickness of the plates, so I picked some longer Grade 8 bolts up from ACE Hardware. Turns out the Rubicon Fox shocks' roosters interfere with the plates, so I didn't put them on. On my YJ I've ripped the same rear shock mount off twice, so I was worried. On the JTR, it seems less likely to happen, so I'm over worrying about it. I'd still buy them, knowing this, for sure.

Had a set on the JL and when we traded it in, this was one of the first things we bought for the JT. Has come in handy when offroading and hitting rocks.
