This 3/16"" thick skid plate is manufactured using a solid sheet of steel that's formed and hand welded into its protective design. It features creature comforts including a laser cut access door for the drain plug and RH4x4 exclusive ""rock dome"" bolt head protectors to be used with the factory supplied mounting hardware. This skid system is undoubtedly the industry's best premium system available.

RH4x4 is first to use laser cut and precision bent drop brackets that use the frame, not the motor mount, as front support locations. This means the skid transfers zero engine and transmission vibration throughout the chassis. This allows the motor and transmission to continue to flex in their mounts naturally without bracing them to the frame rails. Your oil pan, and your transmission are some of the most vulnerable exposed areas while enduring aggressive trails. The slightest of impacts on rocks or tree stumps could potentially puncture your oil pan which means you will quickly lose oil pressure, which means you lose your motor. And if you damage the transmission housing, then you could lose fluid in the transmission causing leaks, overheating, and before you know it, your weekend is ruined. 

The Rock Hard Oil Pan and Transmission Skid are fabricated from ¼” thick plate aluminum, and feature laser cut precision bent drop brackets that install on the frame, rather than the motor mounts as means of support. This will hinder any further vibrations against your chassis. This will allow your motor, and transmission to flex naturally from their mounts rather than becoming bound by the skid plates. The rear of the skid plate will mount to your transmission cross member.

The Rock Hard 4x4 Parts gas tank skid is made out of laser cut steel that was designed to be a precise, perfect fit. The 3/16 inch steel plate screws right into place, not requiring the removal of the factory-provided skid. The gas tank skid is installed with factory bolts, as well as one on 2-door models. 3/8 bolts will require some drilling. The gas tank skid will ensure that rocks and other debris are not pummeling into your car's parts, potentially requiring costly repairs. The two front factory bolts are replaced with tapered bolts to allow debris to slide across, while still enabling you to get a socket on the bolt for removal. Tapered sides also allow for better clearance.
