Top 2018-2023 Jeep Wrangler JL Magnaflow Exhaust Kits

Here at NorthRidge 4x4, we work with trusted and reliable manufactures so you can find the perfect aftermarket upgrade for your 2018-2023 Jeep Wrangler JL. In addition to larger diameter piping, aftermarket exhausts generally have a straighter layout over stock, come equipped with lighter and less restrictive mufflers, and use mandrel bends in order to achieve maximum exhaust flow for your ride. One of the brands that does this best is MagnaFlow, an industry leader in the aftermarket exhaust game. Help SAVE Moab Trails!

HELP SAVE OUR TRAILS - Moab, UT Call To Action! When you envision epic wheeling along with epic scenery, one of the places that comes to mind is Moab, UT and now we are in danger of losing many of the 4x4 trails in and around Moab. The Bureau of Land Management BLM has a draft travel management plan to close over 300,00 acres of land around Moab to motorized vehicles. This closure would affect fourteen  4x4 trails and two motorcycle trails. Either closing them off completely or closing parts of the trails to travel. There is only a 30 day comment period and it ends October 7, 2022. So we do not have much time to get our voices heard to help keep the BLM from closing down these trails. To get heard, visit the comment page and leave your comment in support of no trail closures: https://www.blm.gov/press-release/blm-announces-public-meeting-and-comment-period-labyrinth-rimsgemini-bridges-draft   If you have been to Moab, UT or you’ve been planning on going there in the future or maybe you have no interest in visiting Moab, but you want to keep the BLM from closing even more trails, visit the link above and leave a comment in support of keeping the trails open.     The Red Rock 4 Wheelers club has this to say about the BLM Travel plan: As expected, the "natural resources" alternative B was modified to close even more trails as requested by Grand County, and would now close all of the Hey Joe Canyon, Hell Roaring Canyon, Golden Spike, G...

Jeep JL Bestop Squareback SuperTop Review

A  common question floates among Wrangler and 4x4 forums: “What’s the difference between twill and vinyl soft tops, and which one is better?” The Jeep JL 4DR Bestop SuperTop SquaBack Soft Top- Black Diamond Vinyl and Jeep JL 4DR Bestop SuperTop SquareBack Soft Top- Black Twill are both highly rated across the market. Realistically, it’s tough to say that one is necessarily ‘better’ than the other. Both soft tops can be the right option depending on your needs, use and budget. The twill is more premium in feel, appearance, and quieter road use, while the vinyl offers a budget and off-road friendly option for a soft top. Windows are thicker at 40 mm on the twill, vs 30mm on vinyl. Both options include tinted, zipper-less windows and the dual configuration design. These replacement soft tops install directly on the factory frame of your Wrangler. Installation is a moderately involved process, with around 4 hours to install.   2018-2022 Wrangler JL Bestop SuperTop SquareBack Soft Top    <img alt="4DR Bestop Squareback Soft Top Black Twill" class="”img-responsive”" "="" data-cke-saved-src="https://images.northridge4x4.com/image/private/s--26VOkguA--/f_auto,t_auto_product_nr/v1/product_images/zxzists04nflsggmuqua" src="https://images.northridge4x4.com/image/private/s--26VOkguA--/f_auto,t_auto_product_nr/v1/product_images/z...

7th Tillamook Jeep Jamboree USA Event

Tillamook Jeep Jamboree For the 7th Tillamook Jeep Jamboree USA event, Malo and Joe repped team Northridge4x4 again hoping to repeat the great times they had the previous year. Needless to say, expectations were high for this year’s event. Unsurprisingly, Tillamook didn’t disappoint as the sights were still incredible, the trails were even more fun, and the people were nothing short of stellar. Taking what they learned last year, the guys stuck together and tackled the Archer’s Fire Break 5 trail on day one with Joe’s 4-door JK. It was another rainy and windy day but that didn’t slow anyone down. All it did was made the trails more challenging and way more fun. To their surprise, the Northridge4x4 2021 Jeep Gladiator Giveaway winner Wayne and his wife Nicole just happened to be on the same trail. Obviously, the team followed closely with Wayne to see the giveaway Gladiator in action.    Rain Doesn't Stop Jeepers   The rain made every bit of the trail sloppy and muddy but that didn’t slow the pace of the group one bit. That is until the group came up to the Waterfall obstacle. Waterfall is a large rock shelf that’s over 10ft tall. The “chosen” way up it is to drive up the right side and use a perfect blend of technical driving and a bit of oomph. Our trail guide Paul showed us how to do it in his CJ but only a couple of others tried the same. Two brave souls attempted the feat and one, driving a 4-door JK, snapped a driver-side U joint....

How To Install Soft Tonneau Cover For Gladiator JT

The Pacific Northwest 4WD Association (PNW4WDA) hosted it’s 30th annual Summer Trail Jamboree this year and we had the chance to attend! Having attended it many times over the past couple decades, we’ve got to say that this is a small event that should be on your bucket list. Not because it has super hard-core trails or big named off roaders in attendance. You should have this on your bucket list because this is a well organized and ran event that feels very down home and welcoming. Add to that some excellent trails and some fantastic mountain views Held in the foothills on east side of the Cascade mountains near Naches, WA, the event brings plenty of warm weather and beautiful wheeling up through the hills and woods, often ending up at spectacular view points where you can see many of Washington’s mountain tops. Like Vintage Jeeps? At just about any event put on by the PNW4WDA, you’ll see more flat fenders in attendance than anywhere else in the country. Mitch Carter from AEV was on hand with his dad’s old Flattie. This one has a V-6 under the hood with Old Man Emu Jeep YJ leafs and shocks. Another blue High Hood (3B) sitting next to a low hood flattie, really shows the hood/grille/cowl height difference between the two models. This built low hood has a rip snorting’ v-8 under the hood, ready to do some serious trail riding. The amount of vintage things you see at a PNW4WDA event can be mind blowing&he...

Tennessee Mountains 2022 JJUSA | Jeep Mud Tires Put to the Test

Upon arriving at Windrock Park, we were blown away by how big it is. The park offers more than 73,000 acres and has trails for everyone. We talked with JJUSA officials and got our vendor passes, and set up our spot to hand out swag bags. This JJUSA event had about 125 registered Jeeps, not including sponsors or trail guides. Throw those in and there were about 160 Jeeps just in the JJUSA group. The park is public, so was still open to anyone else that wanted to be there. With the Rain comes the Mud Day two on the trails started out a little wet, to say the least. It rained, sometimes pretty heavy, off and on all day. The clay turns into a nasty cement-like mud that sticks to everything. The trails were definitely a little interesting with all the extra water/mud. We ran with the green group on day one and had about 20 rigs in the group. Kevin Hedzik led the group through Trail 26 (which is a Jeep badge of honor trail) and Trail 27, Trail 5, and Trail 6. We returned to camp after the trails, in hopes of dodging the rainfall for dinner. That was not the case, and the rain continued into the night. Jeeping on Panther Rock Day three started with cloudy skies but only led to a few sprinkles. Of course, the trails were still nice and wet from the previous rain. We ran with the Tiger group and had about 20 rigs on the trails again. We were led by Tish York and ran Trail 51, Panther Rock (another Jeep badge of honor trail) Trail 11, Trail 30, Trail 29, and Trail 33. W...

18th Texas Spur 2022 JJUSA | Jeep Offroading

What a fun trip this was. I hit the road on Monday starting my longest drive yet to an event, 23 and a half hours to the destination. 3 hours into the journey I hit Moab Utah and of course had to stop, unload and take a couple of pictures and videos of that incredible place. After that and getting a bite to eat I headed out. With a Goal of hitting Farmington, NM that night, I continued on. Tuesday morning I hit the road early, with a fever lol. Jeepers Assemble Making it to Big Spring, Texas at about 9:30 that night I was ready to hit the hay. Wednesday morning I continued on accompanied by a really awesome headwind. Slowed us down a bit but we still got there late afternoon, still enough time for a couple of good pictures down by the riverfront. By the way, Llano Texas’s Taco bell is amazing! Thursday hits and you can start to see the increase of Jeepers cruising around town. Always a fun sight to see. Check-in is always a blast as well. I headed down to check in a bit early, set up the jeep out front, and helped Jeff and Griff with Jamboree set up their trailer. Hanging with the guys there and talking with all the Jeepers is always a blast. Once we got through and decided what color we would be running with we went out to eat and headed to the hotel to turn in for the night. Day 1 and Day 2 line up, Jeeps all over the place. As Jeeps started up to leave and head out to Inks Ranch. Inks Ranch is widely known for its guided hunting trips, jeep Jamborees, and...

Lifting Your Jeep JL With The Rancho 2in lift.

We've done a quite few lifts on Wrangler JLs here at the Northridge Nation/Northridge4x4 DIY garage, however there has been one lift we haven't installed yet and have been looking forward to.... The Rancho 2" Suspension System. Not for any particular reason other than Rancho is one of those legendary names in 4x4 suspension, especially Jeep suspensions, and they are known to build a good lift kit. How legendary is Rancho Suspension in the Jeep world? Rancho Performance was one of those companies that helped start the off road aftermarket parts industry. They started out as family ran Jeep parts and service business back in 1955 and progressed to their current status as one of the best known 4x4 suspension manufacturers in the world. Originally called Rancho Jeep Supply and ran by father Clarence Shook, the small shop sold Jeep parts, designed many of their own parts and did Jeep build-ups. In the 1970's, sons Gene and Keith Shook took the reins and Rancho Performance soon became the premier 4x4 suspension company of the time. Then in 1990, automotive parts giant Tenneco purchased the company and has held it since then, slowly growing and changing. Over the 60+ years Rancho has been around, they have seen a lot of changes. You could say that they have been there, done that and unlike so many of the other early day companies, Rancho performance is still around and still going strong. Time to Lift your Jeep: What's In The Box? The Rancho 2" kit Suspension Kit c...

2019 ARB Drive Day

On a beautiful (and rare) sunny spring morning near Seattle, a small group of off-road industry personnel gathered for the 2019 ARB Drive Day event. Leave it to a company like ARB to take product training to another level. Putting together an event they call ARB Drive Day. An event that their vendors and members of the press get a chance to show up, learn about ARB products in-depth and get hands-on experience using the products in a controlled off-road environment. For the second year in a row, ARB rented the Ridge Motorsports complex in Shelton, WA for this event and brought in ARB personnel from across the country (and Australia) to help showcase the newest ARB product offerings and how they work. When I say a small group, small it was, ARB brought in a total of 9 participants and split us up into 4 groups, moving us around through the various stages and courses they had set-up.   ARB Test Vehicles: No hands-on training would be complete without some cool vehicles and ARB brought out five well built 4x4s. 2019 JL Sport This 2019 two door JL Sport was decked out in all the new ARB JL accessories including their Bondi front stubby winch bumper, a Safari snorkel and of course equipped with the new Dana Advantek front 186mm Air Locker and rear 200mm ARB Air Locker. For tires, this JL was sitting on 35″x12.50 KM3 BFG Mud-Terrains.   2018 JLUR – Rubicon 4dr Next up was this heavily built 2018 Wrangler JLUR (4 door Rubicon) that was th...
