I, with the help of a friend using his garage, installed these fog lights in my 2014 Wrangler with stock bumper. A super easy install, took less than 30 minutes. We did this after installing a pair of JW Speaker headlights. We replaced the headlights plus fog lights in under an hour, including removing and reinstalling the grill. Very happy! A fantastic upgrade over stock lighting!
First off, these lights looks amazing and are probably more than 10x better than stock in both pattern and brightness. I recently bought a new to me 2014 Rubicon X. The install on the Rubicon X (Same as hard rock, 10A and COD I believe) was somewhat difficult. First, I had to buy mounting brackets from Maximus-3. Second, the plastic light housings have tabs on each side, I’m assuming for mounting on other bumpers, but they don’t work for the Rubicon X steel bumper. I had to trim the light tabs off get them to fit. Kinda picky, but I feel like with so many of these bumpers on the road, they could have designed a light with a different housing to use on these particular bumpers. So other than the install being a pain for someone who doesn’t own an impact wrench or a dremel for trimming the light tabs, these are a huge upgrade and worth the time and $
If they are on sale worth every $$$. The OE don't hold a candle to these.
I have an AEV bumper, so I can't vouch for the install on a factory plastic bumper, but the install in the AEV bumper was easy enough. My only complaint was that the factory wire is a bit long if you've already extended your wiring for the AEV bumper, but that was fixed with a couple of zip ties to neaten it up.

Q: Splicing needed? JK5 months ago
I see in the instructions that there may be a need to splice the wiring. Can you tell me if splicing is needed for a 2016 Rubicon with Hard Rock bumper? From other questions, i see that I would need to also purchase separate brackets. -

Q: 2015 Wrangler Rubicon Hardrock Fitment. geraldg4 years ago
Is the JW Speaker 6145 J2 LED Black 4in LED Fog Light Kit plug and play with the 2015 Rubicon Hardrock? I see a not of a bracket being required but it looks like it was discontinued and I was curious if these are plug and play with this Jeep. Thanks, Gerald -

A: The bracket is required. There was a part number change for the bracket and it didn't get updated on this page. It should be fixed now, but if not, the bracket is here.: https://www.northridge4x4.com/part/fog-driving-light-mounts/hr1021jw-maximus-3-jw-speaker-fog-light-brackets The lights are plug and play.
