If you're in the market for the hulk of axle housings, then you will be pleased with the Currie Enterprises RockJock 60 VXR 1-Ton Frontend Unit. This axle housing will feature a 6-lug option with 1/2" studs. This axle housing also features the 65-45-12 ductile iron housing center which is considered to be the highest ground clearance 60 axle available on the market. Additional details include the AR400 heat treated bottom skid plate which allows the axle to slide over rocks and other trail elements. The tubes are super robust and measure 3 1/2" X .375" wall DOM steel tubes. along with 1-ton inner knuckles with 5/16" thick heavy steel differential cover. a 1350 Yoke and all new heavy duty Currie suspension brackets mounted. The upper control arm brackets come with Johnny Joint rod ends which will provide improved articulation and approach angles. The axle shafts included in this housing are the Currie Performance 4340 35 spline inner and outer that come with Spicer 1480 u-joints, and the outer assemblies will include 1-ton outer knuckles that will have the Currie High Steer steering arm and ball joints installed.
The Currie 1-ton bearings will be included with the 6 on 5 1/2 wheel bolts which are 1/2" wheel studs, and the JK tone rings will allow for the use of the factory ABS and ESP sensors. The brake rotors are going to be 13" vented which is 1" larger than stock to provide improved braking. The brake caliper brackets will come zinc plated for extra protection against rust and corrosion but also allow the use of factory calipers. Premium manual locking hubs and the heavy duty 1 3/8" O.D. 4130 Chromoly tie rods with tie rod ends are equipped in this axle housing.
The user will just need to choose which ring and pinion to use, along with a 35 spline carrier and a center bearing and setup to have a complete axle housing ready to install.
Please note that this housing only allows for hydraulic ram assist steering only, and will not allow the use of conventional steering stabilizer shocks. This axle housing measures 68.75" wide, and requires the use of 17" wheels. Those with a 2012 model or newer will need a computer programmer to reset the gear ratio as well as the tire height in the vehicles computer.
