The Yukon 4340 Rear Axle Shafts for the Dana 44 / 220mm rear axle are a solid upgrade for anyone looking to add strength and reliability to their drivetrain—especially for Jeeps running larger tires or seeing regular off-road use. Built from high-tensile 4340 chromoly, these shafts are significantly stronger than factory axles and are designed to handle increased torque and stress without twisting or snapping. (Yukon Gear & Axle) One of the standout features is the quality of the manufacturing process. Yukon uses cold roll–formed splines and advanced induction heat treating, which helps improve durability and overall performance under heavy loads. (Yukon Gear & Axle) The kit typically comes complete with bearings, seals, wheel studs, retainers, an ABS ring, and a dust shield, making installation much easier and ensuring you have everything needed to complete the job. (JEGS) Installation is straightforward for anyone familiar with axle work, and the fitment is precise for Dana 44 / M220 rear setups. Once installed, the upgrade provides peace of mind when tackling tougher trails, running lockers, or putting down more power than the stock shafts were designed to handle. Overall, the Yukon 4340 Rear Axle Shafts are a high-quality upgrade that delivers improved strength, durability, and reliability. For Jeep owners who wheel hard or simply want a stronger rear axle setup, these shafts are a worthwhile investment that helps reduce the chances of axle failure on the trail.

I am the rare exception who has a 20 ton standing h-frame bearing bearing press so I can assemble these but most folks don’t so in those cases I would recommend finding a preassembled set instead.
