The PSC Big Bore XD2 is the most powerful and strongest replacement steering gearbox on the market for the Jeep JK, making it a no-brainer for any off-road enthusiast. This unit when combined with the PSC XD Pump Kit provides up to 35% more turning power over the OEM steering gearbox. This gearbox is designed to accommodate larger tire sizes, larger axles, and locking differentials without sacrificing performance. Featuring a larger sector shaft output of 45mm when installed, your Jeep will be able to handle the extra torque output without compromise. Heavy-Duty Construction & Bolt-On Installation The PSC Big Bore XD2 Steering Gearbox carries a larger 80mm piston assembly and can produce up 35% more turning force for your vehicle. This results in easily turning tires of up to 37 inches, making sure your heavy-duty build will function properly. Moreover, the gearbox is crafted from a heavy-duty case with premium hardware components for maximum strength and long-lasting utility. The mounting areas have also been beefed up to handle the hardcore demands of increased steering force. Installation is made simple and straightforward as this steering gearbox bolts directly to your existing mounting points. Best of all, this kit is backed by a 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty to help keep your investment protected.

RECOMMENDED INSTALLATION NOTES:

The BIG BORE XD2 Steering Gearbox was designed to be used with a power steering pump capable of 1800 PSI.

PSC highly recommends the use of their HIGH FLOW/HIGH-PRESSURE Pump Kits to ensure system efficiency and extend component life. These pumps operate at approximately 1800 PSI and produce 50% more volume than the OEM pump. Vehicle steering performance will be diminished if a high mileage or remanufactured component is used.

PSC recommends the use of a power steering fluid cooler and SWEPCO 715 Power Steering Fluid.

The larger size of the BIG BORE XD2 Steering Gearbox may prohibit the use of some aftermarket track bars.

Pitman Arm Retaining Nut Size: 46MM

HEMI Engine Conversions: If the AC compressor or power steering pump is located on the bottom driver side of the engine, there may be clearance issues.

GM LS3 Engine Conversions: The alternator will need to be modified for clearance

When upgrading from 35-inch tires to 37's, the steering issues needing to be addressed became immediately evident. After researching some available options, I decided to go this route. Videos online certainly helped so installation was as expected. Results were great from the first drive out of the garage! Huge improvement over stock and I can much more comfortably and confidently drive my Jeep once again.

Went with the non-ported version, turning 37's and noticed an immediate improvement over the stock box. Overall steering feels much lighter both on road and off. The extra beefiness provides great peace of mind out on the trail. This box is heavy and makes for an awkward install but isn't too bad with an extra set of hands. Definitely add to your upgrade list!

Slow Ride
Tried to go cheap figuring this thing should turn 40's because it's a 1 Ton box. It does easily, just not when you need it in a jam. Now I'll have to take it apart and port it for hydro assist. It bolted right in place of the stocker and is an impressive piece.

Installed by local shop. They were so impress with the big bore,that they are going to recommend it to customers who need one. I notice the instant on my first drive with it problem (fligthty streering) gone!

I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with a stock steering system in it now if I just change the gearbox am I going to be able to use my stock pump and everything else

Are the XD2's rebuildable and can they replace a stock steering gear on a JKU that has a stock system, AEV 2.5 lift with 33's and Teraflex HD Dragline and Track bar without interference? Thanks!
