Features & Product Details
The AEV Front Control Arm Drop Brackets Improve Ride Quality and Suspension Geometry
AEV’s Front Control Arm Drop Brackets pack a lot of suspension performance improvements into a small and affordable package. These brackets improve ride quality by eliminating front axle "precession" caused by uncorrected suspension lift geometry. The corrected motion allows the front tires to move up and rearward (as they did on the stock vehicle) in response to a bump rather than trying to "lunge" over it. Additionally, they dramatically reduce front-end "dive" during hard braking by relocating the "virtual instant center" of the front suspension. They also provide alignment correction for proper tracking by restoring the caster angle without needing cam bolts or different/adjustable arms, plus a slight reduction in maximum front driveshaft angle during suspension travel.
Improves Braking Performance AEV
Front Control Arm Drop Brackets are included in all AEV 3.5″/4.5″ DualSport suspensions. Still, they can also be added to AEV’s 2.5″ DualSport suspension and other manufacturers’ suspensions that retain the OE control arms. These are NOT to be used with adjustable control arms. Not only do these drop brackets improve braking performance, but they also decrease the operating angle range of your front driveshaft. These brackets rotate the pinion up as the axle drops to eliminate the possibility of torn boots on your factory CV axle. This extra angle range allows your factory CV axle to last longer, especially on a lifted Wrangler, to save you money and loss in performance.

Have installed these on 2 Jeeps and they have been perfect for each lifted Jeep.
I drove for a while after installing lift kit before installing these. I wish I had installed sooner. It made for a much smoother ride. I felt every bump in the road before installing.
This was my second time using these on a JK, both times with a Teraflex 2.5" lift kit. They make a noticeable difference in the ride (smoother up front over large bumps) and braking (less front end dive). Install for the brakes is simple and straightforward. Depending on the year of your JK, the passenger upper right frame end control arm bolt can suck to remove, but I've found that pulling the axle end volt completely gives it enough wiggle room to make it doable. During the reinstall, just run the bolt from the outboard to inboard with the nut on the inside, easy.
Just installed these on my daughter's 2009 JK. We'd put the Teraflex 2.5 coil lift with Bilstien shocks on it. It rode 100% better compared to the rough country lift we took off, but still felt unsettled over bumps. With these brackets on, it's a noticeable change in how much more settled the jeep feels overall, and bumps are much smoother now. The right UCA was a pain to get out thanks to the exhaust and some Jeep engineer genius having the bolt installed from inboard to outboard, but after removing the bolt on the axle end and some pry bar persuasion, it came out. Reinstalled it through the whole in the frame that lines up perfectly, outboard to inboard.
They work fine but Rancho makes a set that are more stout
