Features & Product Details

Upgrade your 2018+ Jeep Wrangler JL/JLU with Combat Off Road’s Tail Gunner Tail Lights – Raw Aluminum Edition, built for durability and designed for builders who want the flexibility to apply their own custom finish. These tail lights feature a flush-mounted, low-profile design that reduces exposure to trail damage caused by rocks, branches, and other off-road obstacles commonly encountered with factory-style housings.

Each housing is formed from a one-piece stamped 5052 aluminum, providing excellent strength and corrosion resistance while remaining lightweight. Supplied in a raw aluminum finish, these tail lights are ideal for custom paint or powder coating prior to installation, allowing you to match your vehicle’s build and aesthetic preferences.

Premium Grote LED components deliver bright, reliable illumination and include integrated backup lights for improved visibility and safety. Installation is straightforward with a bolt-on design and plug-and-play wiring that requires no cutting or splicing.

Like all Combat Off Road products, these tail lights are backed by the Combat Lifetime Guarantee. A protective finish must be applied before exposure to the elements to ensure long-term durability.

Key Features:

Flush-Mounted Design: Reduces the risk of trail damage by eliminating protruding factory-style tail lights that are vulnerable to impacts.

One-Piece Stamped 5052 Aluminum Housing: Provides excellent strength and corrosion resistance while remaining lightweight and rigid.

Raw Aluminum Finish: Supplied uncoated for custom paint or powder coating prior to installation.

Grote LED Components: High-quality LED illumination with integrated backup lights for reliable visibility.

SAE/DOT Certified: Meets applicable requirements for legal on-road use when properly installed.

Straightforward Installation: Bolt-on design with plug-and-play wiring—no cutting, welding, or splicing required.

Not compatible with models equipped with the blind spot detection sensor option.

The resistor will get hot during operation—ensure it is positioned away from other wiring to prevent heat-related damage.

Compatible with both non-LED and Wranglers. For LED models, remove the resistor before installation.

Some 2023 and newer JL models may display an in-dash bulb-out error due to variations in PCM voltage tables. This does not affect tail light performance and can be corrected using JScan or a Tazer Mini.

Not compatible with Blind Spot Monitoring system. See note below.

The Combat Off Road LED tail light kit (Tail Gunner Tail Light Kit) is not designed or recommended to be used or installed on any Jeep JL or JT Gladiator that are equipped with the blind spot monitoring system. If you choose to disable the blind spot monitoring system with a tuner, programmer or any other computer interface device (i.e. Tazer from Z Automotive, Superchips Flashcal+, etc), Combat Off Road does not accept any responsibility or liability for the compromise of the safety features or any injury, damages, claims, expenses, or responsibility that may be caused or alleged to be caused, in whole or in part, by the removal of those features. Combat Off Road recommends the Tail Gunner Tail Light Kit be used for off road use only.
