Features & Product Details
Say goodbye to bulky bolt-on bumpers. Next Venture Motorsports' JL Rear Frame Chop Bumper is engineered for serious trail use—with a design that requires trimming your JL’s rear frame rails to dramatically improve departure angle. It’s one of the tightest-fitting bumpers available for the 2018+ Wrangler JL.
Using the included cutting jig, the frame chop process allows this bumper to sit high and tight—tucked in closer than any bolt-on design. This provides critical clearance for technical descents, ledges, and those tight rock trails.
Choose from 3/16" aluminum for weight savings, or 3/16" steel for extra durability. Regardless of body material, every bumper includes laser-cut, 1" thick steel recovery points that bolt directly into the JL frame.
Why This bumper Stands Out
JL Rear Frame Chop FAQS
Does this come with the subtle "Eagle" logo or the full "Next Venture Motorsports" logo seen on the demo vehicles?
This bumper by default comes with the more subtle "Eagle" logo; not the full name cutout. Some of the photos in here display prototypes and early demo bumpers that were meant for show vehicles and brand awareness. The full logo cutout is available upon special request however.
How can I prep for installation?
Grab a cut off wheel and your grinder, some touch up paint for your frame, any coating you wish to apply for your bumper, and grab your hand tools. Once you've got all of that ready, unbolt your old rear bumper, and get ready to use the included cutting and marking jig for the frame rails!
How long does installation take?
Plan to take your time when doing your frame chop! The installation usually takes only a couple of hours however.
Are LEDs included?
No, however we do offer the Baja S2s on our site!
Will this bumper work with my back up sensors?
No. If you have back up sensors from the factory, you'll be losing that feature. We recommend the Tazer for the JL in order to disable this feature and any warnings from it's removal.
Do I need to test fit these prior to coating?
Unless your frame has been modified or damaged, you should not have any issues coating this prior to a final installation. If the frame has any previous modifications or damage, than it's likely you'll want to test fit prior to coating anything.
What does "Bare Metal" finish mean?
Products are shipped bare metal unless otherwise specified. Bare metal products may have scratches or surface imperfections as a result of raw material handling, manufacturing, and fabrication. However, these imperfections are easily covered up with a textured powder coat finish. Additional finishing, sanding, and prep work may be required if you wish to also have them finished with a smooth powder coat or paint.
What alloy are these made out of?
If you opt for aluminum, these are 5052-H32 alloy that measures 3/16" thick. If you opt for steel, these come in ASTM A36 mild steel alloy that measures 3/16" thick. Recovery points are 1" thick steel regardless of material choices for the body.
