Features & Product Details

When building a Jeep JL, JLU, or JT to run 40 inch tires, the factory inner fenders quickly become a limitation. They take up space in the wheel well, restrict suspension travel, and interfere with larger aftermarket shock systems. This becomes a major issue when running Falcon shocks.

Unlike most shocks, Falcon shocks use an integrated reservoir that is part of the main shock body. At the top of the shock, this reservoir extends outward perpendicular to the shock body. This unique design creates a clearance problem that standard inner fenders cannot accommodate.

The Motobilt high clearance aluminum front inner fender kit is specifically designed to solve that problem.

This version features a precision cutout that allows clearance for the Falcon shock reservoir. Without this design, the reservoir will contact standard inner fenders, limiting suspension movement and making proper installation difficult. Instead of modifying parts or limiting travel, this system is built to work around the Falcon shock design.

In addition to shock clearance, these inner fenders provide increased wheel well space for fitting 40 inch tires and improving suspension uptravel. The high clearance layout opens up the engine bay and removes the restrictions of factory inner fenders.

Constructed from aluminum, these inner fenders reduce weight compared to steel while still providing the clearance needed for aggressive off-road builds.

Motobilt offers multiple versions of this inner fender system because different suspension setups require different clearances. This version is specifically designed for Falcon shock systems and should be used when running shocks with integrated reservoirs that extend from the shock body.

Choosing the Correct Inner Fender Version

Not all inner fender kits are designed for the same suspension setup.

Use the correct version based on your build:

Factory suspension → MB1243 or MB1243-M

Falcon shocks with integrated reservoirs → This version

Coilovers or custom shock towers → MB1243-B (blank version)

392 Wrangler and EcoDiesel Gladiator models require the Motobilt windshield washer relocation tank due to interference with the factory washer reservoir.
