Apex Performance Steering Boost Kit w/ Cooler
JT/JL
Features & Product Details
Any time a Jeep is lifted with larger tires and higher offset wheels, the drag on the hydraulic power steering is greatly increased. Deflate your tires for off-road and it’s even worse. The stock system pressures are set low as it’s enough for 33” tires and stock wheels and helps prevent overheating of the system.
With aftermarket performance parts and harder use, the stock pressures and lack of cooling ability become an issue. We have found that the factory power steering can run at a higher pressure with ease.
The boost kit allows for a retune of the factory blowoff valve so we can increase steering power by 40%. While this is good news, more power = more heat and the factory system were barely acceptable. Therefore, a power steering cooler is included. This boost kit MUST be used with a cooler to operate correctly.
Kit includes: patent-pending steering boost valve, gauge, cooler & hardware.
Note: this product is not designed to address steering slop due to aluminum steering box issues.
What does the steering boost kit fix?
Overall, it feels like stock but no more steering issues regarding power.

Install was a little tedious but not awful. Worked as advertised and definitely added some extra force to my steering.
The Apex Kit has been in 6 months. Major steering upgrade for my Jeep on 37s
I was struggling with turning my 37s when aired down, even more so when they were locked, so had been looking at steering solutions. At roughly half the price of a red neck ram and about 10% of the price of PSC, this kit intrigued me.. Install was not that bad, but I would set aside a full day for it if you are DIY in the garage. You can install this in your garage with just jack stands and solo, the only part you HAVE to have a helper on is the pressure setting at the end. Overall from the first test drive impressions, totally worth the money. Do yourself a favor and try this out first if you are running larger tires, but don't want to shell out the cash for a ram or PSC kit.
Fast shipping helped with my steering.
2018 JLU Rubicon. Installed it beginning October. Main reason I bought this was my wife has a hard time turning the wheels with the front lockers on. Installation was pretty easy, take you time be patient and read the instructions. The only thing that was a pain and can get messy is cutting out and removing the factory return line, that where the new cooler get installed. I could tell a noticeable difference on the trail, when rolling slow with the lockers on. It did not fix an issue with the steering randomly sticking. This week the dealer just replaced my gear box with a new model per TSB. Hopefully this completely makes it steer like it should. On and off road. If I can I’ll update my review with new box.

Q: Fitment on 2021 392 JL3922 years ago
Will this fit the ‘21 Wrangler 392? Your website says it won’t fit, however the manufacturer website says it will. Also, is this the newer version with the updated cooler and location or the original kit? Thanks
